Pray for Advent: Friday, December 30

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:1-2

Lord God, we worship you in spirit and truth. We declare that every knee will bow and every tongue confess, that You are Lord.

Pray for Advent: Monday, December 26

The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born, will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35

Father we pray for your Holy Spirit to come and empower your children and servants in Libya for your glory.

Pray for Advent: Saturday, December 24

The King of Glory

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. —Psalms 24:7‭-‬8 NKJV

Father we pray for a Bride in Egypt that would cry out on behalf of this nation that The King of Glory may come in. King Jesus come in to the land You found refuge in. Jesus You are this nation’s only hope. Come Lord Jesus come and open the eyes and hearts of Egyptians to put their faith in You and You alone. We love You Jesus.

Merry Christmas to all!

Pray for Advent: Friday, December 23

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Lord we present you as the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace to the people of Tunisia. We desire that thousands accept this heavenly gift.

Pray for Advent: Thursday, December 22

“Our FATHER who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come and Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread” —Luke 11:2-4

We need God in all areas of our life (physical, spiritual and mental), and this is a daily need. We need to come back to God daily, many times each day and many ways, for we can quickly become independent and self-seeking. Father we pray that You will meet these daily needs of the Algerian people and be their sustenance.  May they turn their hearts to you recognizing You alone can meet their need.

Pray for Advent: Wednesday, December 21

Lead by a star

"After [the Magi] had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh." Matthew 2:9-11

Who are the wise men of Mauritania? Who are the wise women of Mauritania? May they be captured by His light, like a bright star in the sky, and follow it until they see him face to face.

Praise God that He is the One “initiating contact” and leading those He calls right into His presence. Pray that many Mauritanians will stop, spot a “star,” and follow it.

Praise God that His sent-ones are shining like stars (Philippians 2:15) in some neighbourhoods of Mauritania. May they be encouraged, renewed, and strengthened. May those who cross paths with them recognize the Light through them.

Pray for Advent: Tuesday, December 20

Fresh encouragement, renewed joy.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1: 3-9

During this week leading up to Christmas,

Pray that all believers in Morocco will receive fresh encouragement from God.
Pray that we will celebrate our living hope and our eternal inheritance with renewed joy.
Pray that those who are struggling know His nearness and taste His goodness deeply.

May our overflowing joy testify to His presence to all those around us.
May this joy be widely scattered like seeds during this season, drawing hearts to the One who knows all our sorrows and infuses all circumstances with triumphant joy.

All praise, glory and honour be to our Immanuel.

Pray for Advent: Monday, December 19

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.” Luke 2:12-13

Lord Jesus, you deserve all the glory. Thank you for your promise of peace and favour to all people. We ask that you open the eyes of the Libyan people to experience that peace and favour.

Pray for Advent: Saturday, December 17

A bigger explosion

On December 11,  2016 a man wearing a belt with 12Kg of TNT went into a church adjacent to the main Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo, Egypt and bombed himself. 26 people died and more than 50 people were injured. Mostly women and children. More details here

Father we continue to pray for the Blood of Jesus to cry out on behalf of this land. Father we pray for a church that honors Jesus not politics, honors Jesus not people’s desires. Father use this rage for the glory of YOUR Son that many more Egyptians would come to put their faith in Jesus. Father hallowed be YOUR name in Egypt. Let YOUR Kingdom come with all YOUR glory and power. Father we pray for a NATION that would run after Your heart.

Father we pray for the injured and the ones who lost their loved ones, full healing in Jesus mighty name.

Amen and amen.

Pray for Advent: Friday, December 16

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me, one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” Micah 5:2

Father, thank you for sending your Son to the world to be born in Bethlehem as promised by the prophet Micah.  We thank you for all the promises spoken over Tunisia through the ages. Thank you, that all your promises are ‘yes’ and ‘amen’ in Jesus.
