Picture of North Africa

During the summer I had a picture when praying for Egypt and North Africa which I wanted to share with you all, and ask you to pray into during this week.  Perhaps the Lord will lead you to pray further into this picture.  Perhaps it will inspire you to pray more for North Africa during this significant time.  As always, please let me know if you have any feedback to share from your prayer times.

July 2013 – As I pray for North Africa I keep getting a picture of a sleeping giant who was lying across North Africa. All the ground was quite steady while the giant was sleeping. There was an occasional rumble as he snored, but on the whole the ground was steady. Since the sleeping giant woke up (in Tunisia) there has been much stomping around and great restlessness. The ground is constantly moving and shifting and there is still more to come. The giant shows no sign of going back to sleep. I sense God’s hand in the waking up of the giant, and His mighty hand is still present and at work across North Africa. But its like a roller coaster ride for many things in the earthly and the spiritual realms. In response to this picture, I often felt drawn to focus my prayers on the great restlessness – there is something of God’s exasperation in allowing the people’s restlessness to continue – like a thorn in the side that keeps pricking, not allowing the giant to lie back down again. Ultimately God is calling people, waving for their attention, trying to say that HE is what they are looking for…  How does the Lord lead you to pray?
