This is Part 1 as we look at how we can bless North Africa in our prayers.

What are blessings?
Prayers of blessing are usually expressions of God’s intended goodness prayed by ordinary people who pray in the power of having their hearts aligned with God’s heart. Prayers of blessing are always prayers of hope.

Why pray blessings?
God is not yet finished. God is about to do some of the best things that He has done in all of history. He wants them prayed for before they take place. If people are still alive, then God is still at work. Pray blessings with confidence that God will finish everything He has begun. God wants to fulfil His purposes by prayer. God changes us. As you pray blessings, you will find that you become genuinely concerned for others. You will find yourself growing with courageous hope.

What blessings?
Most of the prayers for blessing in Scripture deal with peace, increase, and God’s presence.

Today, we want to bless the nations of North Africa with peace.

Use Scripture as a starting point and then turn it into prayer. Here is an example :

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. 1 Thess 3:16

We praise You as the Lord of peace. Only You can impart peace to the people of North Africa at any time and in every way. Do not merely change their circumstances. Change the people themselves, to become who they have always wanted to be – with relational poise and inward joy. give them a better peace than they have dreamed could be, but that You have always desired.

Whatever house you enter, first say, “Peace be to this house.” If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Lk 10:5-6

You are already at work shaping the hearts of many men, women and children across North Africa to become people of peace. We add our blessing to those You have so blessed. Cause them to be the ones who close doors to evil and open doors to that which brings hope. We bless these people of peace with introductions to believers or workers in their country.
