We invite all Libyans who are thirsty today, to come to Jesus, the source of living water and never be thirsty again. Come, draw water from the wells of salvation. (John 7:37, Isaiah 12:3)
Egyptian Christians who operate a Christian bookshop report a number of wonderful testimonies :
My vision is to soak all of Egypt with the Word of God!
One lady who was wearing a complete burqa came into the bookshop and immediately picked up a copy of the Bible and began to walk out of the shop. We asked her if we could help her in any way. She replied, “No thank you. I have what I need. This is what I came for!”. All she wanted was the Word of God. Now she has one, and we are praying that as she reads it, God will reveal Himself to her.
On another day, a group of 3 young ladies came into the book shop. They looked at a few books and picked up a free copy of the Bible that we give to everyone who wants one and left the bookshop. None of the staff had a conversation with these 3 women. A few weeks later, they came back to the bookshop and told us that they had all decided to put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ. They had become followers of Christ, just through reading the Bible. Now they want to know more. Pray that they will grow quickly now they are in fellowship with other believers.
At Pray North Africa, we are challenged to trust God for a big harvest all across North Africa this year.
- Pray for a mighty harvest in Egypt.
- Ask God to protect Christian ministries like the bookshop.
- Pray for many opportunities to give out the Word of God.
- Pray that every person who has a copy of the Bible will be reminded of it, take it out and read it, and ask that the Holy Spirit reveal the truth of Jesus Christ through His Living Word!
It is the same with my Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Isaiah 55:11
Father, we pray that you will make your Tunisian children bold and fearless to make the mystery of the Gospel known to the whole nation. (Eph. 6:19)
Three years after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down in the wake of nationwide protests, Christian workers in Egypt are finding an openness rarely experienced before. Forgiveness, and the non-retaliation of Christians, were both unexpected and unprecedented, but have had a huge impact on many non-Christians. Egyptians are now openly questioning their traditional faith, and expressing doubts aloud, according to a Christian worker in Egypt and leader of a church-planting team there. To doubt isn’t rare, but to openly challenge beliefs is. ‘They are hungry for truth in a way that was not present before,’ they said. ‘If I am talking to people at a teashop, people around who are not a part of the conversation will often stop me afterwards and want to know more,’ he said. ‘They will ask me their deep questions that have been troubling their hearts for years.’
We ask you would break down mistrust of foreigners in Mauritania and provide workers there with friends, contacts, people they can share life and faith with. We pray for open doors and for trust to be built quickly. We ask that workers would make a new friend or contact this week. We also ask that existing contacts would open up this week and take a step forward in friendship. Thank you that You are a God of faithfulness and breakthroughs.
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? ” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” John 14:1-7
How to pray?

- He is the only way, the only truth, and the only life! Ask God that many will be able to know this, trust this and put their faith in Jesus.
- Pray that many will be eager to study the Bible together.
- Pray that the Church will grow rapidly in number and maturity.
Lord Jesus, we invite Libyans to pass through the gates as we prepare and build the highway for them. We remove the stones and obstacles and raise your banner for the whole nation. (Is 62:10)
We pray today that many more Tunisians will meet of the King of kings in 2015 and say, ‘He is my refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust.’ Psalms 91:2
