Pray for Mauritania: Wednesday, September 5

Justice Is Done

Beaten up,
Robbed,
Hospitalized?
And the witnesses?
Many as the grains of the sand:
Kadiel is one;
Ndoulla
Ndyam Bele is one
Even the birds can testify…
But you forget that the chief
Has his son as the judge
And his son-in-law as interpreter.

Original in French, by Mauritanian poet, Oumar Ba (1921-1998)

For those who live the reality depicted by this poem, we pray for:

God’s justice to become a light to Mauritania, and for his arm to bring justice to this nation. (Isaiah 51:4-5)
