Blessings and encouragement for workers
After the slow-paced, scorching summer, work begins afresh around this time of year. Let’s lift up workers and their children during this time, that they will know the Lord’s delight, strength and encouragement.
Praying from the first part of Psalm 34 (paraphrased from the Passion translation):
“May workers in Mauritania burst with joy over what you’ve done for them, Lord! May their lips be full of perpetual praise. Let them boast of you and all your works, so let all who are discouraged take heart. Let’s praise the Lord together in Mauritania! Let’s make him famous here! Let’s make his name glorious to all! Let this be the testimony of many: “I cried to God in my distress and he answered me! He freed me from all my fears! ALL of them!” May they gaze upon you Lord, may they join their lives with yours, and joy will come. Their faces with glisten with glory… no more shame-face again…. may workers in Mauritania cry out to you – hear them, Lord, and bring your miracle-deliverance when they need it most. When they pray, may angels stoop down to listen, and to encircle them, empower them, and show them how to escape.. may workers and their families drink deeply of the pleasures of God, they they may experience for themselves the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide themselves in you. Let’s worship in awe and wonder… all of us who fear you, Lord, will feast with plenty…. make this a year of feasting for Mauritania. Your goodness is unending!”
In the powerful name of our saviour and friend, Jesus. Amen.
