Pray for Mauritania: Wednesday, November 30th

He shall be great

"But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
from ancient days.3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time
when she who is in labor has given birth;
then the rest of his brothers shall return
to the people of Israel.
And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great
to the ends of the earth." —Micah 5:2-4

Let’s use this Messianic prophecy in this Advent season to guide us in interceding for Mauritania.

Lord, we praise you and thank you, that you sent Jesus out of a little town to become ruler over the nations! We praise you, O ancient of days, that you did not forget your people. In your mercy, you made a way for us out of captivity into freedom. We lift up Mauritania to you today.

Jesus, our Messiah, stand in your strength over Mauritania, stand as the great shepherd over Mauritania, in the majesty of the name of God. Draw multitudes to yourselves, that they may dwell secure. Lord, we believe and we proclaim that you “shall be great to the ends of the earth, ” you “shall be great [in Mauritania.]
