Pray for Morocco: Tuesday, July 4

Human Trafficking: A 2017 Report

This week, let us pray towards the total elimination of human trafficking in Morocco.

Below are some quotes from the latest US Department of State report of “Trafficking in Persons,” (published June 26, 2017). The section on Morocco from the full report could be found on page 67-68 of this pdf.

“The government of Morocco does not fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking: however, it is making significant efforts to do so.”

Thank the Lord for progress made and small battles won. Pray for fighters for justice to rise up among governmental and non-governmental circles. Pray that they will obtain favour, and will have endurance and wisdom as they continue to work towards the ending human trafficking in Morocco. Pray for Jesus-followers among them to shine with the light and love of Christ in every aspect of their work.

“The government did not provide protection services designed or funded specifically to assist trafficking victims.”

” … some [Moroccan] women are forced into prostitution in Morocco by members of their families or other intermediaries.”

“International organizations, local NGOs and migrants report unaccompanied children and women from Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, and Cameroon are highly vulnerable to sex trafficking and forced labor in Morocco.”

Pray for these victims (Moroccan, Sub-Saharan African and South Asian) who are, right at this moment, trapped in oppressive situations of exploitation. Pray for rescue and restoration: for supernatural help, for NGO-s to effectively come to their aid, and for advocates within the government to put measures in place for their well-beings

“As reported over the past five years, Morocco is a source, destination, and transit country for men, women, and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking.”

Cry out to God for the networks of trafficking to become networks of Kingdom transformation. Pray for a complete turnaround. Pray that in the next five years, Morocco will no longer be a source, destination and transit country for human trafficking.

May there be revelation of the sanctity and value of all human life. May God work powerfully to bring about justice and restoration among the most marginalized and exploited in Morocco.
