Breaking the Fast (Eid al Fitr): The festivity to break the fast lasts for three days. People in the Muslim world will enjoy meals together, visit each other and exchange gifts.
On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine
the best of meats and the finest of wines.
On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud†that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace
from all the earth.
The LORD has spoken.
We pray today at the end of Ramadan for people to rather choose the feast of rich food the Lord prepared for all people, in Jesus name!
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
Father God, thank you for sending Jesus to give us freedom, sight, and favour. We pray that all the Muslims in North Africa will accept this indescribable gift. Soften the hearts of stone, Lord, and replace it with hearts of flesh with your commandment written on it.
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you, life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life —Deuteronomy 30:19-20
As intercessors we pray for the people of North Africa to choose life. May all who hear your voice, regard their previous life as rubbish to gain Christ and righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
We pray for the nation of Mauritania this Ramadan, and ask the Maker of the Heavens and the Earth, Jesus, to pull down the religious strongholds of Ramadan. May this be a month where such a holy dissatisfaction fills people, that the month of Ramadan isn’t enough to please God. May the Holy Spirit show that the only way to please the Father, is to come through the Son, Jesus Christ.
We proclaim today: Jesus cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. (Colossians 2:14-15)
Thank you Lord Jesus that you died to save sinners!
We pray for the nation of Morocco this Ramadan, and ask the Maker of the Heavens and the Earth, Jesus, to pull down the religious strongholds of Ramadan. May this be a month that Christians in Morocco experience the protection, covering and love of their Heavenly Father. May they have wise answers to questions. May they have favor with their family, neighbours and friends. God, we praise You. We praise You because You are near to us. People talk about the wonderful things you have done. Psalm 75:1
Night of Power (Lailat Al Qadr): Tonight Muslims remember and commemorate the day which the prophet Muhammed received his revelations via the archangel, Gabriel. Many believe that prayers of tonight will be more effective.
Lord Jesus, your word says that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. We ask that you reveal yourself powerfully through dreams and visions tonight, to every expectant Muslim in North Africa. We know when you reveal yourself, there is NO doubt who you are, Jesus, the Son of the Living God.
Oh Father in Heaven, holy is your name. May your will be done in North Africa as you have decided in heaven. We know it is in your will that all will be saved and come to know the truth. May your gentle, loving voice be heard and every heart respond, in Jesus name.
Praying for Muslims Refugees: Millions of refugees are fleeing violence or economic uncertainties in their countries. They end up in refugee camps or die in overcrowded ships in the Mediterranean. Just in one day, 6000 was rescued close to the European cost.
‘The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ —Romans 15:12-13
Heavenly Father, you are the Lord of all hope. You are the only one who can provide for the desperate souls from North Africa. We also pray and bless the hands who will help and serve them and are ambassadors for your Kingdom.
‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’ —Matthew 11:28-30
Today Lord, we pray for those in the regions who are burdened and tired of trying to be righteous and religious. May they hear your invitation loud and clear and put the burdens at the cross. Thank you, Jesus for inviting us to have a relationship with you.
